More About This Car

Hello! Thank you for looking at our very rare 1988 'F-reg' 5.3 Litre Petrol 300bhp Jaguar XJR-S 'Celebration Le Mans Edition'. No. 48 of 100 produced! HPI Clear, Warranted Miles, Matching Numbers & Just 3 Owners Since 1988! Supplied New by Follett Jaguar of London to a High-Profile Individual, Later Enjoyed Overseas in Warmer Climates Before Returning Home to the UK. Amazing MOT History! This example will come with a fresh MOT Test & Inspection Service, making it ready for the most memorable of drives home. A personal video of the vehicle is available upon request. The Jaguar XJS was a premium-luxury Grand-Tourer Coupe produced between 1975 and 1996 and replaced the now much-adored E-Type. One key improvement on the E-Type was a significant enhancement to the vehicle's aerodynamics. 115,413 models were produced during a 21 year legacy, the majority of which were exported to non-UK markets. The last XJS line ceased production on 4th April 1996. Originally, power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission, but the manual was soon dropped - hard work! In the 70s & 80s V12-powered cars were a rare sight at the time with the odd notable exceptions coming from Ferrari & Lamborghini. Both performance & specification of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; 60mph in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. From 1988, a special XJR-S version of the V12 5.3-litre car was produced by JaguarSport, a separate company owned jointly by Jaguar and TWR. The end-result being a distinctive body kit, special alloy wheels and uprated suspension together with a number of all-round driving improvements. The first 100 of these cars were termed 'Celebration Le Mans' to commemorate Jaguar's 1988 win at Le Mans. Between 1988 and 1989 a total of 350 XJR-S cars were produced with the 5.3-litre engine. Given only 100 were produced and sold worldwide, this is an exceptionally rare motor car boasting a highly-collectible status and makes for a sound addition to any private collection.
